I strive to make breastfeeding a stress-free and enjoyable experience for both parents and their babies. We provide personalized and family-centered care to ensure that your unique needs are met. We believe that every family deserves to have the necessary resources to achieve successful breastfeeding. We offer virtual and in-person home visits, prenatal lactation visits before baby arrives, breastfeeding classes, and lactation education.

Breastfeeding and the Affordable Healthcare Act

As you may already know breastfeeding has many great benefits for you and your baby. 

For the Mother:

  • Aids mother in recovery during the postpartum period.  Helps the uterus shrink back down to it's normal size faster.

  • Strengthens the bond with the infant

  • Decreased risk of postpartum depression

  • Lowers risk of breast cancer

For the Infant:​

  • Provides the perfectly matched nutrition

  • Provides antibodies

  • Provides anti-cancer fighting cells (HAMLET)

  • Disease fighting stem cells

  • Anti-viruses, anti-allergies, anti-parasites

  • Probiotics, Prebiotics

The Affordable Healthcare Act requires all private health insurance companies to provide breastfeeding support, counseling, and equipment for the duration of breastfeeding.   These services can be provided before or after birth without any out-of-pocket costs to the family.  For more information please visit:

Services

In Home Lactation consult details:

  • Addressing concerns with breastfeeding and/ or pumping

  • Full Assessment

  • Weighing baby

  • Personalized plan of care 

  • Access to secure messaging, phone calls 

  • Initial session may last up to 2 hrs.

Virtual Lactation consult details:

  • A link will be shared with you for us to do a virtual meeting.  

  • Please have another support person available during our session.

  • Make sure you are in a well lit room. 

  • If possible I would like for your baby to just starting to get hungry, but not Hangry!  If your baby is getting Hangry please go ahead and feed.

  • If your internet service isn't the greatest or is sometimes poor, this may not be the best option.

  • Concerns will be addressed

  • Will attempt to visualize an assessment of breastfeeding

  • Will develop a plan of care with the breastfeeding parent

  • Initial session may last up to 2 hrs. 

Prenatal Lactation Consult details:

  • Will provide guidance on how to breastfeed the first 48-72 hrs after birth.

  • Positions for breastfeeding

  • Newborn feeding cues

  • Frequency of feedings

  • Provide information on breast pumps and use

  • Address questions and concerns

  • Best time to schedule this appointment is around 35-37 weeks.

  • We accept debit, credit card, FSA/ HSA 

  • Not covered by insurance?  We can provide you with a Super Bill that can be submitted to your insurance for reimbursement.
